Use
In this activity, you define valid pay areas, such as:
- 99: Reserved for basic pay rate
- 00: Reserved for no locality area.
The value in the field Pay Scale Area (PSA) determines whether the pay rate is derived from the basic rate table, a special rate table, a locality pay rate table, or a wage area pay rate table.
There are dozens of locality pay rate tables, special rate tables, FWS areas and FWS special rate tables. All of them must have a two-character key. This field is subsequently used by the SAP system to assign pay scale areas to federal codes.
The following naming convention is recommended:
NN (max. 100 entries) - locality pay area.
Value '99' is reserved for basic rate table.
Value '00' is reserved for no-locality.
AA (max. 676 entries) - Special rate tables.
NA (max. 260 entries) - FWS wage area.
AN (max. 260 entries) - FWS special rate table, as well as spare space for space overflow of any above category.
Note: N is a number (0-9), A: is a letter (A-Z) .
