Use
In this step, you define a single message class to be used for certification and licensing renewal codes, which are used (in certain jurisdictions) to provide complete instructions for the renewal options that employees can pursue to remain certified or licensed. Renewal codes, if you choose to use them, are displayed in the Certification and Licensing infotype (0795).
Requirements
Standard settings
No default message class is defined for renewal codes in the standard system. Moreover, you may define no more than one message class for use with the renewal codes in your system.
The definition of a message class in this step is, however, optional. If your workplace does not intend to use renewal codes or to assign messages to them, then omit this step entirely.
Note
The message class defined here functions as a parameter to activate the use of renewal codes in your system. Therefore, if you do not execute this step, or if you execute the step but do not define a message class in the Value abbr. field, then no renewal codes will be displayed on employee records in the Certification and Licensing infotype (0795). Therefore, if you wish to use renewal codes in that infotype, then you must define a message class name in this step and maintain the corresponding messages in the next step.
Activities
Execute this IMG step.
On the subsequent screen, in the Value abbr. field, enter the message class name (ten characters maximum) whose messages will be used to describe the renewal codes in your system.
Save your entry, then exit this step.
Example
By executing this step, you can define ZRENEWCODE as the customer message class whose messages will be used to describe the renewal codes in your system. Upon defining this message class, you can execute the next step to maintain the messages within that message class.
