Use

In this step, you define a complete list of the levels that will be used in your system to differentiate the professional areas that you defined in the previous step.

Activities

  1. Execute this step.
  2. On the subsequent screen, for each level to be differentiated, enter a one- to two-character identifier of your choosing in the Level column.
  3. For each identifier you enter, specify a corresponding description in the adjacent column.
  4. Save your entries, then exit this step.

Example

Suppose you are employed for a county school district, for which you must differentiate the levels of instruction in which your employees are certified to teach. By executing this step, you could differentiate these levels in the following manner:

  • Level - Description
    01 - K-12 All
    02 - K-5
    03 - 6-8
    04 - 9-12

The levels defined here ultimately differentiate - within employee records of the Certification and Licensing infotype (0795) - the levels of instruction or supervision in which your employees are certified. In that infotype, these levels are indicated within the Level field of employee records.
