Suppose you are employed for a county school district, for which you must define the professional areas in which employees are certified. By executing this step, you could define these areas in the following manner for teachers:
Area - Description ACCT - Accounting ART - Art COMP - Computer Science DRAM - Dramatic Arts ELED - Elementary Education FRCH - French MATH - Mathematics PHED - Physical Education
In contrast, for vocational instructors, you could define the following areas.
Area - Description SHOP - Machine Shop WOOD - Woodworking
Finally, for supervisors, you could define the areas shown below.
Area - Description GUID - Guidance Counselor PSY - Psychologist SOC - Social Worker TRUA - Truancy Officer
The areas defined here ultimately describe - within employee records of the Certification and Licensing infotype (0795) - the professional areas in which employee certificates or licenses have been issued. In that infotype, teachers who are certified to instruct French would have a record in the area FRCH, while certified machine shop instructors and psychologists would have records in the areas SHOP and PSY, respectively.
