In this step, you maintain the competitive areas. The competitive area codes contained in this view are accessed by Infotype 1660 (US Federal Position Attributes). The competitive area is the geographical and organizational boundary within which employees compete for retention during a RIF (Reduction in Force). A competitive area may consist of all or part of an agency. The minimum competitive area is a subdivision of an agency under separate administration within a local commuting area.
