Creating, Maintaining entries in table 'T588M'
This step allows for the addition of entries to table 'T588M' to accomodate the change to the feature 'P0077.' This feature is concerned primarily with the screen program 'MP007700', Additional Personal Data. Separate entries must be maintained for Applicant and Employee data in reference to US Federal. There are some screen elements that should be visible for applicant and not for employees, and vice versa. To do this you have to specify a screen program, a standard screen, a variable key and an alternate screen. The alternate screen is used when the specific variable key is encountered in the feature concerning screen program 'MP007700' ('P0077'). Once the table entries are created, the details of the particular entry can be changed. Here defined screen groupings in the particular screen in question can be modified in such a way as to be default, output only or invisible, to name a few. For the applicant screen for screen program 'MP007700' screen '2310', the field for Veterans Preference for RIF should be invisible. For the employee version of the screen, the 'Targeted' radio button option for Handicap should be invisible. For both screens there is a choice of how RNO data is reported. The 'Ethic Origin' drop down listbox can be made invisible, or the 'Ethnicity' drop down list box can be made invisible. Please note that the table control housing 'Race Category' is hidden from view when 'Ethnicity' is hidden, because these two screen elements work together to identify RNO data.

From the table 'T588M', click the 'Feature' button in the lower left hand button. In the screen that is displayed next, enter 'P0077' in the text field for 'Feature' and click the 'Change' button. This will display the feature you will need to change/maintain.
Because there are different screen elements that must be visible for both Employees and Applicants, the feature must be written in such a way as to differentiate between the two groups. For applicants, the feature can be used to check TCLAS first. If TCLAS has the value 'B' then the person is considered an applicant in the system. For employees, Personnel Area can be checked for a specific value, thereby identiftying them in the context of the feature. See the documentation link above for examples.
