In this step, you review and amend the residence status categories that will be used in your system, which will partially determine the taxation status of non-citizens that may be present there.

The categories contained in this view are accessed by the Residence status field of Infotype 0094 (Residence Status) during the creation of residence status records for visiting students, scholars, professors, and so on.

Example

Examples of typical residence status categories include:

  • A - Non-Resident
  • C - Citizen
  • N - Non-Citizen

Prerequisites

To run the Substantial Presence Test for persons within your system, you must maintain the pre-defined value A (Non-Resident) in the view associated with this IMG step.

Any person who lacks a current, valid record in Infotype 0094 with Residence status set to A is automatically ineligible for consideration under the Substantial Presence Test.

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG step.
  2. Review any residence status categories that may already exist in this view.
  3. If necessary, select New entries and enter additional residence categories and their descriptions.
  4. Save any changes you have made, and exit the transaction.
