Transferring information that is relevant to posting
The FI interface included in the SAP HR Pension Fund enables you to provide Financial Accounting with information that is relevant to posting from an individual PF account.
Examples of such information include data such as contributions paid by the insured person and his or her employer, and interest that is credited to the insured person.
Contributions are revenue for the pension fund. They must be charged to the insured person's employer (on the assumption that contributions are paid by the employer). Interest is an expense that must be credited to the insured person's individual pension fund account.
Therefore, contributions and interest do not merely influence how the persons insured in a pension fund (as depicted in the SAP HR Pension Fund) are managed. They also affect financial accounting for the pension fund. Contributions and interest must first be calculated for every insured person within the SAP HR Pension Fund before they can be transferred to Financial Accounting. Further processes then take place in Financial Accounting. For example, invoices are issued for contributions, incoming payments are checked, dunning is performed, and balance sheets are prepared.
The FI interface supports integration processes between pension fund administration and Financial Accounting. The posting-relevant data of individual PF accounts can be transferred automatically to Financial Accounting.
Note that the interface is not intended for the following tasks:
- Payment interface
The interface between the SAP HR Pension Fund and mySAP Financials is not a payment interface. Using this interface does not give rise to automatic payments. They must be performed in Financial Accounting or via payroll.
- Transfers from Financial Accounting to the pension fund
The interface only transfers data to Financial Accounting. Data cannot be transferred from Financial Accounting to the PF.
- Cost accounting
Pension fund posting data is not relevant to cost accounting. Therefore, cost accounting is not supported in the standard system.
