In this step, you define financial years.
A financial year is a period of time on the basis of which budget structure elements can be selected, displayed or edited.
You define a financial year by giving it a name and assigning it a user-definable period.
Example
- Financial year 1999: 01/01/1999 - 12/31/1999
- Financial year 1999/2000: 01/01/1999 - 12/31/2000
Recommendation
Always try to assign appropriate names which link the financial year to the calendar year in question.
Activities
To define a financial year, proceed as follows:
- Choose New entries.
- In the Financial year field, enter a name for the financial year.
- Enter a validity period for the financial year.
- Choose Save.
Further notes
When you carry one financial year forward to the next financial year, please remember that there must be no time gaps between the validity periods of these two financial years.
