In this step, you review the categories of ethnic origin to be used within your jurisdiction for EEO-1 and EO Survey reporting purposes. If necessary, you may add new categories in this step to supplement the original ones.
Standard settings
As delivered, the standard system features eight pre-defined categories of ethnic origin, which correspond to the categories established by the EEOC for EEO-1 and EO Survey reporting purposes. Each category is assigned a numeric value. The pre-defined values and categories of ethnic origin are as follows:
01 - White/Not Hispanic origin
02 - Black/Not Hispanic origin
03 - Hispanic
04 - Asian or Pacific Islander
05 - American Indian/Alaskan
06 - Native Hawaiian
07 - Hispanic White Only
08 - Hispanic All Other
Prerequisites
To execute EEO-1 or EO Survey Reporting in the standard system, you must use the pre-defined values and categories of ethnic origin found in this step. However, if your jurisdiction allows additional ethnic categories for other purposes, then you may add those categories in this step. Moreover, for the purposes of reporting employees of Hispanic or Latino ethnic origin, you must report employees under category 03 alone, or under categories 07 and 08, but not under all three categories. This configuration is performed via feature EOSRA in a subsequent step of this IMG chapter.
