In this step, you define a selection exit for a selection rule in the same category. The selection exit is a programmed function module that performs one of the following selections from infotype fields:
- Selection of periods
- Selection of weighted periods
- Selection of date-based durations
You use the selection exit to evaluate the predefined infotype field attributes as well as the contents of the infotype fields. If required, you can also evaluate Customizing tables.
Example
You want to weight your employee's employment period using the capacity utilization level from the Basic Pay infotype (0008). To do this, you develop a selection exit to select all existing records for the Basic Pay infotype and the capacity utilization level for the employee.
The selection exit returns the validity period of the individual infotype records as the weighted periods. The infotype records are weighted with the corresponding capacity utilization level.
Requirements
To define a selection exit, you always need a function module for the evaluation. If required, you can specify a function module for the value help. You can use the following function modules as a copy template whereby new function modules must have the same interface as the copy templates.
- Function module for evaluation: HR_SEN_TEMPLATE_SEL_EXIT
- Function module for value help: HR_SEN_TEMPLATE_SEL_VALUE_F4
Further notes
To display additional information on the function module, choose Display documentation. To check the selection exit, use the single test for function modules in the Function Builder.
Standard settings
The standard system contains the required selection exit for the calculation processes in the standard system.
