In this step, you define Qualifying Day Patterns (QDPs) for the employees in your company.

This involves associating each QDP model with criteria which determine the group of employees (employee subgroup) and part of your company (personnel subarea) for which they are valid. You also set details determining the QDP's validity in time.

Standard settings

In the standard SAP System a number of models have been set up which you may use.

Recommendation

You should set up one or more QDP(s) to be used as defaults.

If you are running payroll for a group of employees - or even all employees - who have the same QDP, you may use the default instead of creating infotype 0084 (SSP Control) records for them.

Activities

  1. Either copy a QDP defined in the standard system or create a new entry.
  2. Enter the organisational validity and a name.
  3. Enter a validity period.
  4. Define the calendar date the QDP is to start from and the day on the model from which it is to start.
  5. Give the name of the model to be used.

Example

In your distribution section (PSA grouping 08) you have a group of hourly paid employees (Empl.SG grpg. 1) who qualify for SSP on three different days per week over a two-week cycle.

Week 1: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays

Week 2: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays

You have set up this QD model in the previous step with the name '3DAY'.

All these employees are on a two year contract from 01.01.1995 to 31.12.1997

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Enter the organisational information and a name for the QDP, for example 'DISTRIB3'.
  3. Enter the validity period 01.01.1995 - 31.12.1997
  4. Set the reference date 01.01.1995 as this is a Sunday and we want the pattern to start on a Sunday.
  5. The starting point of the QDP should be week 1 of the QD model.
  6. Enter the QD model name 3DAY.
  7. Save your entries.
