* The grade is linked with the job in infotype Grade -1651. The grade is then linked with a civil servant via the job that describes his or her position.
* The grade is also used in infotype Careerhistory - 0623. Therefore also grades that employees had in the past working for other organizations, should be maintained.
Example
Your employee has the grade of Director. He or she will be given a position that is described by a job that has been linked with the grade "Director" via infotype Grade - 1651.
