The Employment Opportunities Easy Web Transaction (EWT) requires you to carry out the following activities:

  1. Set up feature INTDF (default value for Internet medium)

Feature INTDF (default values for Internet applications) enables you to store the media for Internet applications, and the default value for the country indicator displayed for the applicant on the initial screen of the Employment Opportunities EWT.

The return matrix of feature INTDF (default value for Internet medium) has the following structure:

  • MEDEX - (external) Internet medium
  • MEDIN - (internal) Internet medium

This enables you to determine the vacancy structure that is offered to the applicant. You use the values that have already been stored for Internet media in Customizing for Recruitment. The values for Internet media are stored in Customizing table T750D Medium.
If the Employment Opportunities SAP Internet Application Component is implemented on its own, you only need to store the return value for MEDEX (external Internet medium).
If you also implement the Employment Opportunities service for internal applicants (employees), you are advised to determine two different Internet media (one internal, and one external).
For information on how to create media, access the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Recruitment and see Create Media.
  • LAND1 - country indicator

The default value stored here determines which country-specific entry screen is displayed by the system on the initial screen for an external applicant. When an external applicant accesses the EWT Employment Opportunities, he or she can overwrite the default value. Depending on the country indicator entered on the initial screen, the system provides the applicant with a country-specific entry screen in which to enter his or her personal information.

  1. Set up feature INTDY (default values for Internet applications)

You use feature INTDY (default values for Internet applications) to determine default values for the following, for example:

  • Organizational assignment of applicant
  • Address format

You can determine all return values depending on the country assignment (MOLGA) or job advertisement. In the standard system, all return values are set up depending on the country grouping.

The return matrix of feature INTDY has the following structure:

  • PERSG - applicant group
  • PERSK - applicant range
  • WERKS - personnel area
  • BTRTL - personnel subarea
  • SACHP - personnel officer responsible

This enables you to specify a personnel officer to whom the external Internet applicant is assigned.

  • SPAPL - unsolicited application group
  • DYNNR - screen number

The system uses the screen number to determine the entry screen that is used by an applicant to enter his or her personal information.

Example:

610 for USA

601 for Germany

  1. Set up formats for applicant documents

In this step you define the formats that are permitted for applicant documents. This enables you to specify for your enterprise which formats applicants can use to submit their online applications in electronic form.

You store the formats in the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R). You can set up several formats in this table. In particular, you enter the document extension

(DOC_TYPE; for example, .doc or .jpg) and the format (MIME_TYPE; for example, pjpeg or jpeg. All entries that were customized in the SAP ArchiveLink component are allowed. These formats are specified in the SAP ArchiveLink Document Classes view (V_TOADD).

When an applicant accesses the EWT Employment Opportunities, the SAP System checks the document format chosen by the applicant against the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R). If the applicant uses a format that your enterprise has not set up, the SAP System issues an error message.

The SAP System uses the entries in the Permitted Document Formats for Internet Applications table (T750R) to reference the long texts for the permitted formats in the SAP ArchiveLink Document Classes view (V_TOADD), and enters them in the EWT Employment Opportunities.

Note that variable MIME_TYPE may be browser-dependent, in which case you must specify appropriate values for the variable.

Additional notes

Documents linked to the applicant are stored using document type HRIAPPLINT.
