In this step, you define eligibility groupings. These groupings allow you to set different eligibility criteria for employees within a benefit program. You later define the eligibility rule for combinations of eligibility variant and grouping.
Note
Even if you do not want to differentiate between employees within one benefit program, you must still define one eligibility grouping.
Example
Salaried employees are eligible for a set of benefit plans. Within their benefit program, there is a health club plan. Disabled employees have no minimum work hours requirement. Other employees must work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Two eligibility groupings are defined:
- DISB - Disabled employees
- OTHR - All other employees
Standard settings
To display information on the structure and use of the feature, choose Goto -> Documentation from within the decision tree.
Activities
- Enter a four-character identifier and a description for each eligibility grouping.
- Choose Feature and set up the decision tree as required.
