Use
In this activity, you specify the BSI TaxFactory version for master data (BSI Tax Locator functionality) and tax calculation (USTAX payroll function). This can either be the TaxFactory version specified in the activity Specify BSI TaxFactory version for customizing settings or the version immediately prior to that.
From BSI TaxFactory 9.0 onwards you can use more than one BSI TaxFactory version for master data and tax calculation. This can only be done only during the transition period from one version to the next, while both versions are supported by SAP.
You specify the TaxFactory version to be used by editing the 10BSI feature in this activity. You can use the following criteria to specify the version:
- BUKRS: Company Code
- WERKS: Personnel Area
- BTRTL: Personnel Subarea
- PERSG: Employee Group
- PERSK: Employee Subgroup
- ABKRS: Payroll Area
Requirements
In the preceding Customizing activity, Specify BSI TaxFactory version for customizing settings, you have specified the highest TaxFactory version currently available in the system.
Standard settings
In the standard system, the decision tree for the 10BSI feature is blank. As a consequence, by default the system uses the version you have specified in the preceding Customizing activity, Specify BSI TaxFactory version for customizing settings.
Activities
Execute this activity and edit the 10BSI feature according to the needs of your company.
The versions specified in the feature can only be equal to or lower than the version you entered in the preceding Customizing activity, Specify BSI TaxFactory version for customizing settings.
Note
Before maintaining personnel master data and running payroll with the latest BSI TaxFactory version, ensure that all upgrade or installation activities for that version have been completed.
Warning
When editing the feature, you may decide to specify a BSI TaxFactory version that is not the highest version. This should be done only during the transition period from one version to the next.
You must manually edit the feature again in the future and specify the highest version, before SAP no longer supports the previous version. Otherwise, you may encounter problems in your tax calculation.
Example
- In Customizing activity Specify BSI TaxFactory version for customizing settings, you have specified BSI TaxFactory 9.0.
- In this Customizing activity, you specify the following:
- Tax Company US01 uses BSI TaxFactory 8.0.
- Tax Company US02 uses BSI TaxFactory 9.0.
As a consequence, even though BSI TaxFactory 9.0 is enabled in your system and already in use for Tax Company US02, the calculations for Tax Company US01 are still performed using BSI TaxFactory 8.0. You must change your Customizing settings in the future, before SAP no longer supports version 8.0.
