In this step, you maintain feature 07DTY (Determine hire date type) to assign a hire date type for each absence type related to short/long term disability for the US (country grouping 10). This ensures that the appropriate start date will be used in calculating service units for short/long-term disablility plans. For further information, see the feature documentation for 07DTY.
Note:
Once you have assigned a hire date type to short/long-term disability absence types, you then on Infotype 0041 (Date specifications) create an entry with hire date type (defined in feature 07DTY) for each employee. This will serve as the start date from which the systems calculates service units for short/long-term disability plans.
