In this step, you define an identifier for the application from which you transfer wage components to Payroll. The identifier is used as part of the key when the system transfers external wage components. When you define an identifier, you automatically create a new subtype of the External Wage Components infotype (0579) at the same time. The subtypes are used in infotype 0579 to assign the wage components to the application in which they originated.

Example

SAP Insurance uses the identifier CACS for insurance commission.
