Use
In this Customizing activity, you determine which combinations of absence types and rules for calculating social insurance payments the system processes using the same calculation algorithms.
If you need to calculate the social insurance payments for one set of absences differently from another set of absences, you can differentiate between the ways in which the system calculates the social insurance payments for particular absences by using a calculation modifier. For example, according to legislation, you must calculate the social insurance payments for work accidents and occupational illnesses differently from the other absence types for which you calculate social insurance payments. To make this distinction, you assign calculation modifiers to the different sets of absences.
When you calculate the absence pay to which an employee is entitled when he or she is absent for one of the reasons covered by social insurance contributions, you base the calculation on the employee's income in the two calendar years before a period of absence begins. If an employee is entitled to specify any two calendar years as the base for calculating social insurance payments, you record the years in the Statement About Rules for SI Payments (3273) infotype and enter the subtypes that you use in this Customizing activity.
Requirements
You have defined the calculation modifiers that you need to use to calculate social insurance payments for different sets of absences in the Customizing activity Link Wage Type for Social Insurance Base and Calculation Modifier.
You have defined the subtypes that you use in the Statement About Rules for SI Payments (3273) infotype in the Subtype Characteristics (V_T591A) view.
Standard settings
Activities
- Assign the calculation modifiers that you defined in the Customizing activity Link Wage Type for Social Insurance Base and Calculation Modifier to the absence types to which the calculation modifiers relate.
- If an employee is entitled to specify any two years as the base for calculating social insurance payments, enter the subtype in the Statement About Rules for SI Payments (3273) infotype that you use to store the base years for calculating social insurance payments for the absence type in question.
Example
Assume the following points:
- You must calculate the social insurance payments for work accidents and occupational illnesses differently to the social insurance payments for all other types of absences that are covered by social insurance contributions.
- To enable the system to store the base amounts for these sets of absences separately, you have defined two calculation modifiers in the Customizing activity Link Wage Type for Social Insurance Base and Calculation Modifier. Assume that you have defined the following calculation modifiers:
- 0002 for work accidents and occupational illnesses
- 0001 for all other absences covered by social insurance
- One of your employees is entitled to specify two particular calendar years as the base for calculating social insurance payments. You create a record for the employee in the Statement About Rules for SI Payments (3273) infotype; in this infotype, you use one subtype for all social insurance payments.
In this Customizing activity, you make the following settings:
- Assign the calculation modifier that you use to differentiate between the calculation algorithms for social insurance payments to the corresponding absence types
- Assign the subtype that you use in the Statement About Rules for SI Payments (3273) infotype to the absence types that are covered by the subtypes.
The table below contains sample settings for this purpose:
Absence Type Calculation Modifier Subtype
0200 (Sickness) 0001 0001 (All Social Insurance Payments)
0205 (Work Accident) 0002 0001 (All Social Insurance Payments)
