In this step, you define the wage types used to spread the amount of tax on a payment over a number of full payroll periods.
Example
A new employee started work on April 1, but was not paid in the April payroll run. In the May payroll run, you want to pay him or her for April and May. To ensure that the employee is taxed correctly over both payroll periods, you would enter the value 2 (representing 2 payroll periods) against the tax spread wage type in the Additional Payments infotype (0015).
Standard settings
The standard system contains model entries that you can use to set up tax spread wage types in processing class 71.
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you use or copy the model SAP wage types.
Activities
To set up tax spread wage types, you:
- Choose the relevant wage type.
- Enter the appropriate specification against processing class 71.
