In this step, you set up the Eligible Termination Payment (ETP) wage types used to calculate the non-taxable portion of eligible termination payments, that is, the lump sum D value.
You can also set up the wage types for an ETP payment that is not an invalidity payment or a lumpsum D.
The Lumpsum D indicator, if selected, indicates that the payment will be included in the calculation of the lump sum D amount. The wage type amount will be considered for lump sum D. In case the total amount of lump sum D calculated is more than the limit specified, the limit value is considered for lump sum D. The balance amount above the limit value is added to the ETP. Otherwise, the total value of lump sum D is considered based on the values maintained in this view.
The Invalidity payment indicator, if selected, indicates that the payment is included in the calculation of post 94 invalidity payments. This amount is added to ETP and is also stored into a variable. The post 94 component of ETP is then calculated based on service days and so on. This amount is compared with the variable and the lesser of the two is taken as the total permissible post 94 invalidity.
Example
- You wish to pay your employee a lump sum D amount of $ 10,000.
To enable this, you would set up the wage types for the ETP payments and select the Lump Sum D indicator in the 'Redundancy details' section of the Redundancy Model.
- You want to set up an invalidity payment on which Post 94 Invalidity component should be calculated.
To enable this, you would set up the wage types for the ETP payments and select the Invalidity option in the 'Redundancy details' section of the Redundancy Model.
