In this step, you set up additional rules for the superannuation fund. To do this, you enter the superannuation fund code, the fund modifier and the rule number. This allows you to set up several superannuation rules for the same fund code.
During the payroll run, the fund rules and the modifier are checked in rule number sequence. If the employee is in the age group specified in the rule, the SAP System checks the employee's hours and earnings against the rule. If the employee has worked enough hours and earned sufficient, the system uses the default company contribution percentage. If the employee does not meet the earnings or working hours requirements, the contribution percentage is set to 0.
Example
You want to set up a rule defining that employees who belong to certain personnel areas/subareas must work at least 25 hours per payroll period before they are eligible for company contributions. To do this, you:
- Create a new rule.
- Set the age group as 0 to 99.
- Assign the superannuation fund modifier for the relevant personnel area/subarea.
- Enter a minimum of 25 hours.
- Enter a minimum of 0 earnings and a maximum of 999999.00 earnings (the SAP System checks the hours and not the earnings).
- If the employees who work a minimum of 25 hours receive the same contribution as full-time employees, make the default contribution percentage the same as the fund contribution percentage.
Requirements
Before creating fund rules, you must set up the fund codes and the superannuation fund modifier. To do this, go to the steps Create superannuation funds and Create fund modifiers.
Wage types forming hours worked must be set up in processing class 72. To do this, go to the step Define superannuation wage and salary earnings.
Standard settings
The use of fund rules is optional.
