In this step, you define the number of hours used to apportion leave accruals on an hours-worked basis. You can define:

  • Standard working hours that are less than or equal to 99 hours, and
  • Standard working hours that are greater than 99 hours

Example

An employee works different hours each payroll period. The employee is entitled to accrue leave, but not the full amount. Instead, the employee accrues a proportional value based on the hours worked and calculated as a percentage of the standard number of full-time hours.

Standard settings

The standard system defines the standard working hours for the pay scale type and pay scale area. The hours you enter in this step are the base hours used to calculate leave accruals on an hours worked basis.

Activities

  1. To configure standard weekly working hours that are less than or equal to 99 hours, enter the relevant pay scale types, pay scale areas and employee subgroup groupings in the activity Set up standard working hours.
  2. To configure standard weekly working hours that are greater than 99 hours, modify feature 13LHR in the activity Set up base weekly hours worked by entering the relevant country grouping, pay scale types, pay scale areas and employee subgroups for collective agreement provisions.

Further notes

If you enter the same country grouping, pay scale type, pay scale area and employee grouping in both activities, the system uses the entries configured in the activity Set up standard working hours.
