This step provides an overview of the system configurations you must make before setting up the transfer of leave accruals to entitlement based on leave quotas in Personnel Time Management.

Requirements

Before configuring the transfer of leave accrual to entitlement, you must:

  • Configure the Quota Compensation section of Customizing for Personnel Time Management. In particular, you must configure the relevant transfer rules.

    Transfer rules can be used to define transfer periods that are greater than 12 months, or that can be adjusted if an employee takes leave without pay.

    If you require different transfer rules for different employee groupings, you must ensure that you have configured the following groupings accordingly:

    • Employee subgroup grouping for time quotas
    • Personnel subarea grouping for time quotas
    • Personnel subarea grouping for time recording

      If you require a flexible transfer rule, you must ensure that the rule is valid for the relevant employee groupings. If you do not do this and an employee transfers from one area to another, the system will not read the correct transfer rule.

      To configure transfer rules, in Customizing for Personnel Time Management, go to Time Data Recording and Administration -> Managing Time Accounts Using Attendance/Absence Quotas -> Calculating Absence Quota Entitlements -> Rules for Generating Absence Quotas -> Define Transfer Rules for Quota Entitlements, and then Define Generation Rules for Quota Selection.

  • You must also configure the date types used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041). To do this, in Customizing for Personnel Management, go to Personnel Administration -> Evaluation Basis -> Date Specifications -> Define Date Type.

Standard settings

The standard system enables you to configure transfer rules for long service leave based on employee subgroup groupings for time quotas, personnel subarea groupings for time quotas, personnel subarea groupings for time recording.

You must not configure transfer rules based on Quota type selection rule groupings.
