In this step, you set up drop deduction wage types, that is, the payment and deduction wage types that must be excluded from the payroll run if an employee only works for part of a payroll period.
To do this, you configure the relevant wage types to have specification 1 (Drop the deduction wage type) in processing class79 (Drop deduction wage types for partial periods).
During payroll, the system checks the specification assigned to wage types in processing class 79. If the system finds a wage type with specification 1, it checks whether the employee has worked for the entire payroll period. Where this is the case, the wage type amount is either deducted or paid to the employee accordingly. If, however, the employee only works for part of the payroll period, the wage type is excluded from the payroll run and does not appear in the payroll log.
