Use

In this IMG activity, you can use the Calculation of Basic Pay for Public Sector report to update the basic pay amount based on the index value.

Requirements

You have assigned index values in the IMG activity Define Pay Scale Groups and Levels.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Run the Calculation of Basic Pay for Public Sector report.
  2. Define the start date.

    The start date determines which records are updated.

  3. In the Update Options group box, choose Update Pay Scale Amount.

Example

You have created the following pay scale records in Customizing for Payroll by choosing Payroll: Portugal -> Enhancements for Public Sector Portugal -> Valuation -> Define Pay Scale Groups and Levels:

01.01.1990 01.01.2007 31.12.9999

"Old" amount EUR 0.00 EUR 0.00 Amount before you run the report (zero)

"New" amount EUR 200.00 EUR 300.00 Amount after you run the report

Note: The first time you update the pay scale amount, the old pay scale amount is always zero (EUR 0.00).

If you want to update the amount of the pay scale in record 1 (in the Pay Scale Groups table), you run the report with the start date of the record (01.01.1990.) The report retrieves the Index 100 amount from the Index 100 Grouping table and the index value from the Index Value for Pay Scale Type, Area, Group, and Level table that are valid on the start day, calculates the basic pay,and updates the amount in the record. The amount is updated to EUR 200, 00.

If you set the Start Date to 01.01.2007 and run the report, the system updates the pay scale amount in record 2 to EUR 300.00.
