In this step, you determine how overtime wage types are compensated.
Example
Employees must be compensated as follows if they work overtime: time in lieu of basic wage plus an overtime bonus.
Requirements
- Wage types for overtime are already defined.
Reference: Create wage types - Create wage types for overtime using the function GWT.
Reference: Generate wage types
Standard settings
The value of the overtime compensation type in infotype 2005, Overtime, determines how employees are compensated for overtime. The standard specifications are the following:
- 1: Remuneration (basic wage plus overtime bonus)
- 2: Time off plus overtime bonus
- 3: Compensation (time off)
Recommendation
It is not necessary to customize the personnel calculation schema in order to use the above overtime compensation types: it is enough to specify the overtime compensation type in infotype 2005, Overtime.
Activities
- Decide whether you require additional overtime compensation types, and define them accordingly.
- If you define new overtime compensation types, specify which personnel calculation rules are to be used to compensate the overtime. Copy personnel calculation rule PC20 to ZC20 and make any necessary changes in the copied version.
- In ZC20, change the name of the personnel calculation rule which is called for processing by function POVT.
Further notes
Function POVT must be active in the personnel calculation schema. Overtime compensation cannot be performed without this function.
Do not deactivate function CUMBT. If you do, the wage types generated in the personnel calculation schema are not transferred.
