Example

You want a certain group of employees to be paid 22 days of lunch allowance, except in July, when there should be no payment whatsoever.

Requirements

Standard settings

The SAP R/3 standard system already includes two standard ways to determine the number of days for which lunch allowance has to be paid. It takes into account

  • the number of effective work days in the month in question (Option I)
  • a fixed number of days for every month (Option M)

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Decide if there are any special needs not contemplated by the standard options.
  2. If not, then just configure the standard number of days to be paid every month (for option M only; no configuration is necessary for option I).
  3. Otherwise:
    1. Copy the standard Personnel Calculation Rule PN19 as many times as necessary to contemplate all the cases.
    2. Change the Personnel Calculation Rule(s) in order to perform the necessary calculations;
    3. Enter the newly created Personnel Calculation Rule(s) as parameter(s) in step Maintain lunch allowance valuation rules.
