On April 1 1999 the Employer Monthly Schedule (IR348) replaced the child support, student loan and employee start and finish schedules. It contains details of your employees':

  • Gross earnings (including bonuses, backpay, taxable allowances and withholding payments)
  • Earnings not liable for ACC earner premium
  • Lump sums taxed at the lower rate
  • Income tax and withholding tax deductions
  • Child support deductions
  • Student loan repayment deductions

In this section, you set up the Employer Monthly Schedule (EMS) by carrying out the following steps:

  1. Maintain the high and low tax rate constants to be used on the Employer Monthly Schedule. These constants are used to determine at which rate the employee was taxed during the month. This, in turn, determines whether the 'Lump sum taxed at low rate' checkbox on the EMS must be selected for the employee.
  2. Maintain the hiring and termination payroll constants to be used on the EMS. These constants are used when deciding if an employee's start and finish dates should be included on the EMS.
  3. Maintain the employer IR details and payroll contact details to appear on the EMS.
