In this step, you define:
- The length of time employees must work in your company before leave accruals transfer to entitlement
- If necessary, up to three transfer frequencies
You do this for employee subgroup groupings and personnel subarea groupings in your company as well as for specific transfer rules and date types.
You can define up to three transfer frequencies. This allows you to configure a quota type to rollover after a given period of time has elapsed, and to rollover again after subsequent periods have elapsed.
Each successive transfer frequency should equal the amount of time from the previous transfer date to the next transfer date. The final transfer frequency is repeated continuously. If you only enter one transfer frequency, this will also keep repeating. You can use the Multiplier field to define the frequency of the transfer date if it is to be repeated at regular intervals.
Example 1
A company has a long service leave rule stating that employees are entitled to take any long service leave that they have accrued after 10 years of service. After a total of 15 years of service, the employees are entitled to another five years of accrual. From then on, the employees are entitled to the accrual after each year of service.
To configure this rule in the system, you enter the following in the Transfer Times group box against the appropriate transfer rule and date type:
Transfer frequency 1 10 years
Transfer frequency 2 5 years
Transfer frequency 3 1 years
Since the final transfer frequency is set to one year, leave accrual will be transferred to entitlement each year.
Example 2
You want a particular quota type to rollover every two years. To do this, you enter one transfer frequency of two years as follows:
Transfer frequency 1 2 years
Transfer frequency 2 -
Transfer frequency 3 -
Requirements
You must have set up your employee groupings, transfer rules and date types as described in the previous step (Set Up Transfer Rules and Date Types).
Standard settings
The standard system contains model entries that you can modify to meet your requirements.
