In this step you can assign legal persons [juridische personen] to personnel areas.
A legal person is an independent entity from a legal and fiscal point of view and can be assigned to more than one personnel area. Each employee is assigned to a personnel area in Infotype 0001 (Organizational Assignment).
For each legal person you can enter:
- One address
- One registration with the tax office
- One or more industrial insurance boards [bedrijfsverenigingen]
- One or more pension funds.
Example
Suppose you have four personnel areas and two plants which are legally independent. If the first three personnel areas belong to the first plant and the fourth personnel area to the second, the field Legal Person can be treated as follows:

The field Legal Person is used to group authorities, e.g. to group employee records according to withholding agents for annual statements to the tax authorities and the GAK (Industrial Insurance Administration Office).

Standard settings
A sample record of a personnel area assignment to a legal person is supplied with the standard delivery. Please note that you have to define the assignments relevant to your company.

Assign the personnel areas used by your your company to the appropriate legal person.
Use one legal person only per tax number [belastingnummer].
