Authorization profiles contain authorization objects and their authorizations for selected responsibility areas. User authorizations are based on the profiles which are assigned to the User master record.

Standard settings

The standard SAP R/3 system contains a sample profile P_BAS_ALL for HR master data which contains all authorizations for Personnel administration (including Time Management).

Requirements

You must first perform the IMG activity Maintain Authorizations.

Activities

  1. Check the standard profiles.
  2. If necessary, create new profiles to meet your requirements.

    If you do create new profiles, base them on the standard ones.

  3. Take into account the Detail screen for each entry.

Further notes

You transport profiles as follows:

  1. Display the profiles list.
  2. Choose "Profile - Transport".
  3. Select the profiles you wish to transport.
  4. Confirm your selections and enter the correction number.
