In this step you define the maintenance payment deduction calculation rule on the basis of jurisdictions, categories and relevant liabilities for the company.

The calculation rule combines models to calculate the Gross, and the Net.

As well as assigning the models you can determine which garnishments apply to special payroll runs.

Note: The calculation rules have a validity period.

Requirements

Have defined the jurisdictions, categories, models and liabilities before creating calculation rules.

Standard settings

The standard SAP R/3 system provides two rules for each type of liability from the jurisdiction FD - Federal, category P - Maintenance payment:

001 - Default Gross/net

002 - Default Gross/net special payment excluded

Recommendation

  • Specify the rule in the infotype Garnishment liability.
  • Specify which garnishments apply to special payroll runs.
  • Assign as Value by omission to the rule of greatest use the code "001". This way, upon creating a garnishment, the said value will appear automatically in the field of the infotype Garnishment liability.
