In this step you generate the additional technical wage types you may require by copying the model wage types delivered with the system.

These copies are the wage types you will use in further processing and which you can modify to suit your requirements.

All technical wage types begin with a '/'. You should use the following customer name range for your additional technical wage types:

  • /090 - /099 Valuation bases
  • /180 - /196 Cumulations
  • /227 - /232 Averages

Note

For information on setting up your own wage types, please see 'Payroll Data -> Wage Type Concept' in Customizing for Personnel Administration (PA-PA).

Caution

Please use only the area specified for your own copied wage types. Do not copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP standard wage types.

Activities

To create a new technical wage type by copying one from the standard system, please proceed as follows:

  1. Specify the wage types that are to be created by copying the model wage types. To do this, specify the model wage type in the field OWTyp. and specify the copy wage type in the field CWTyp..
  2. Modify the long and short texts of the copy wage types to suit your requirements.
  3. Flag the Test field if you want to carry out a test run.
  4. Select all wage types you want to copy.
  5. Choose Copy wage types.
  6. Check that all the wage types to be copied are entered in the list now displayed and whether they will be copied to the correct wage type area. If this is the case, choose Copy wage types.
  7. The wage types are now copied. A list is generated logging the changes to all tables affected.

Further notes

For more detailed information on the copy procedure, choose Help -> Extended help in the maintenance view.
