Description

This IMG step consists of two activities.

In the first activity, you assign the Registration Number of each Business Number in your enterprise that is subject to BPS reporting to an arbitrary two-character address type, which is used by the system to ascertain address information for BPS reporting purposes.

In the second activity, you ensure that each address type entered in the first activity has been correctly maintained with the name, telephone number, telefax number and e-mail address of the contact person for BPS reporting issues at the Registration Number indicated.

By performing these two activities, you link the Registration Numbers used by your enterprise to the names and contact details of the parties responsible for BPS reporting issues.

Note

In the event that address information for BPS contact persons has already been maintained in the second activity, you may wish to reverse the order of the activities, that is, to determine the address type in the second activity and assign it to the corresponding Registration Number in the first activity.

Requirements

Before you may proceed with these activities, it is required that you have correctly configured your Registration Numbers in the following section of the Payroll Canada IMG:

  • Tax
    -> Define Business Numbers/Taxation IDs
        -> Define CRA Business Numbers

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG step, then select the first activity:

  • Assign Registration Numbers to BPS address types
    1. In the subsequent dialog box, specify Business Number type RC.
    2. For every Registration Number found in the corresponding view, specify an arbitrary two-character address type for BPS reporting purposes in the Type column.
    3. Save your entries, then exit the activity.

  1. Select the second activity:

  • Maintain BPS address types with BPS contact person data
    1. On the subsequent screen, select New entries.
    2. Enter the data for the BPS contact person(s) in the following manner.

      Under Type, enter each two-character address type specified in the first activity of this IMG step.

      Under Address, enter 1 for the name of the contact person, 2 for the telephone number, 3 for the telefax number, and 4 for the e-mail address.

      Under Address text, enter the corresponding name, telephone and telefax numbers, and e-mail address.
    3. Continue to enter this data until contact data has been assigned to each address type specified in the first activity of this IMG step.

  1. Save your entries, then exit the second activity and this IMG step.
