Use
In this step, you convert ROE data that was created with RPCROEK0 - the previous version of the standard ROE reporting utility in mySAP ERP HCM - for storage in the ROE Workbench, the new version of that utility.
Requirements
Only execute the conversion report contained in this IMG step if your enterprise has used RPCROEK0 in the past to perform ROE reporting. If your enterprise has never used RPCROEK0, then exit this IMG step here and proceed with configuration.
If you do not know whether your enterprise has used RPCROEK0 in the past to perform ROE reporting, then perform the following procedure to determine this fact.
- Execute Data Browser transaction SE16.
- On the subsequent screen, enter table name T5KSN, then choose Table contents from the application toolbar.
- On the screen after that, choose Execute from the application toolbar. Upon performing this action, one of the following two system responses occurs.
- If the system issues a message stating "No table entries found for specified key," then your enterprise has never used RPCROEK0, and no data conversion is necessary. Therefore, exit this IMG step here and proceed with configuration.
- If the system displays table entries on the subsequent screen, then your enterprise has used RPCROEK0, and data conversion is necessary. You are therefore required to perform this IMG step.
Standard settings
As delivered, the conversion report associated with this IMG step is delivered with one selection, the checkbox Test run. This option is active by default, meaning that until you de-select this checkbox, previous ROE data generated by RPCROEK0 (in table TK5SN) will not be converted for storage within the ROE Workbench (in tables T5KR0 and T5KR1).
Recommendation
We recommend that you first review your previous ROE data in table T5KSN and perform test runs of the conversion report associated with this IMG step before performing a live conversion report run.
Activities
To perform a live conversion of previous ROE data for storage within the ROE Workbench in tables T5KR0 and T5KR1, proceed as follows.
- Execute this IMG step.
- On the subsequent screen, de-select the Test run checkbox.
- From the application toolbar, choose Execute to run the conversion report.
Once the conversion of all prior ROE data is complete, the results screen of the conversion report is displayed, tabulated in SAP List Viewer format, with the following table header:
- Converting previous ROE data from T5KSN
Number of T5KSN record(s) converted: nnnnnnnnnn
Update status: Production Run ID "0000000000" created.
Within the table, the results of the conversion report are summarized, (from left to right), in the following seven columns:
- Personnel No. - Last Day For Which Paid - Sequence - Serial No. - Amended No. - First Day Worked - Status
All previous ROE data converted in this manner is assigned a run ID of 0 within the ROE Workbench, and can be viewed in that application as needed, provided that the Status assigned to the converted dataset is Completed. Converted data with any other status cannot be viewed in the ROE Workbench.
Further notes
Even after you have executed a live run of this conversion report, your previous ROE data will remain in table T5KSN. Because this data remains in table T5KSN, there is nothing to prevent you from executing a live run of this conversion report multiple times. Note, however, that each additional live run of this conversion report that you perform serves to overwrite the results (with run ID 0) of the prior live run performed.
After conversion is complete, the ROE Workbench considers all previous ROE data during subsequent ROE form generation, thereby preventing overlapping ROEs from being produced. However, because converted ROE datasets only contain the information displayed in the seven columns of the conversion report, no detailed block information can be displayed in the ROE Workbench for any dataset with run ID 0.
Because all previous ROE data that you convert lacks detailed block information, the ROE Workbench does not support amendments for any dataset with run ID 0.
