In this step you define the special rule for calculating the limit of what can be garnished. The special rule offers a very general way of calculating the limit. It can be used for those cases that are not covered by the usual way of calculating the limit as provided by the view Non-exempt amount.
Here you define a code for the special rule and a text that describes it. In addition, you define whether the result of the calculation scheme is an exempt or a non-exempt amount. Furthermore, you define the time period to which the amount refers that results from the calculation scheme. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to define up to two amount fields and up to two percentage fields that can be filled in the Garnishment debt infotype. These fields can be used in the calculation scheme. You define these fields by filling the description fields in this view cluster.
Once you have defined the characteristics of the special rule, you can define the calculation scheme. This scheme can consist of one or more lines. In each line you generally combine the values of two fields by an Operator (e.g., add and multiply). On the one hand you can use the fields Term 1 or the amount of a Wage type. On the other hand you have the fields Term 2 or a fixed Value.
The result of this operation you can write into the fields Result (you have nine variables available) If the result of one operation is the final result of the calculation scheme, then the Result field should be left empty. Any lines after that line are ignored.
