In this IMG activity, you define a basis for entitlement determination, rounding and a special condition if necessary.
A costing-based basis is defined in days for quota cumulation. This basis corresponds to the maximum possible entitlement that can be reached in a payroll period.
In this step, you define whether calendar days or average calendar days in a payroll period are to be paid as a basis for entitlement determination.
If an employee is not entitled to the special payment for a certain number of days in a payroll period, the quota calculated is smaller than the basis. The employee therefore only has a partial entitlement in this period, which is specified as a percentage. You can now determine whether or not this partial entitlement is to be rounded to a full entitlement. You can either round to the nearest whole number, round up, round down or not perform rounding at all.
If the functionality in the standard R/3 system does not match your requirements, you can define a special condition for the special payment. You must set up the program coding for this yourself.
Example
The calendar days in a payroll period are to be used as the basis for Christmas bonuses. Your specification for this would be 1.
An employee joins the enterprise in the middle of the entitlement period and therefore only has a partial entitlement. Since you do not want to round this partial entitlement, you should specify a 4.
Requirements
You have determined the special payment variant for all special payments, as well as the type of entitlement period for recurring special payments.
Standard settings
No special conditions are implemented in the standard R/3 system.
Activities
- Specify the basis for entitlement determination.
- Determine how the entitlement is to be rounded.

Further notes
In the version for Italy, the following special provisions are given as a suggestion and example for customers.
Special Rule 1 (of Special Provisions) entirely assigns the entitlement days of the month if the employee reached at least 15 attendance days in that month.
This rule must always be used with 'Rounding Rule' n.2 (Always round up)
Special Rule 2 (of Special Provisions) entirely assigns the entitlement days of the month if the employee has reached at least 15 attendance days, only in the employee's hiring or termination month. Attendance days are calculated including detrimental absences.
This rule must always be used with 'Rounding Rule' n.4 (Do not round)
