This step allows you to create specific processing classes or the corresponding characteristics, in order to link them to logical views and to use them for updating of wage types.

You can also create new characteristics for existing processing classes.

Standard settings

SAP standard version processing classes are stored in range 01 - 89.

Processing classes 90 - 99 are available for customer-specific entries.

Recommendation

SAP recommends not to cancel or change standard version processing classes, as this can cause errors in the calculation process of wage types.

Activities

  1. Check the entries that are still free in the customer namespace
  2. Choose processing classes under "navigation"
  3. Choose "new entry"
  4. Define the evaluation class number and enter a short text

Further notes

SAP recommends to create new processing classe in the mentioned customer namespace only, as entries are updated in SAP standard version and can be overwritten in the following release change.
