At this operational stage, by copying SAP model wage types you create individual wage types for residual remuneration settlement calculation.
These copies are the wage types that are used in the subsequent processing and that can be adjusted to specific requirements.
Here you can only copy wage types required for residual remuneration settlement.
For the wage types copied, only use the default name range (all wage types starting with a digit). Never copy wage types to the SAP model wage type areas (all wage types starting with a letter or a special character).
Create copy wage types for residual remuneration settlement:
- by copying the wage type catalog
- by creating prototype wage types.

For information on customer-specific wage type creation, please refer to the implementation guide of the Human Resources component, section 'Payroll data -> Wage type concept'.
Consider that model wage type copies, i.e. user-defined wage types, copy both characteristics of on-line processing and characteristics of SAP model wage types. In the subsequent stages you can check and, if needed, adjust the characteristics of individual wage types concerning on-line processing.
