In this step, you can specify that certain days do or do not reduce an employee's entitlement.
Requirements
You must ensure that one of the following is already carried out:
- A Period Work Schedule Rule must have been customised.
- All Personal Work Schedules must already have been customized.
- The SMP Maternity Record must be maintained.
Standard settings
SAP delivers three standard rules for days that qualify to reduce the employee's entitlements:
- Working Days Qualify (Sickness)
- Days After The Start Of The Employee's MPP Qualify (Maternity)
- Working Days Qualify (Industrial Injury)
Recommendation
In general terms, the "All Days Qualify" rule would be used for maternity and the "Working Days Qualify" rule would be used (in conjunction with the "Entitlement Weeks" amount unit) for sickness.
Example
The employee is sick all day Friday and every day up to and including the following Thursday. They still have ten days of full pay sickness entitlement left. Only working days (Monday to Friday) reduce their entitlement to full pay sickness. This would imply that the employee would receive full sick pay for the entire absence, but only have their entitlement reduced by five days.
Further notes
The Non-Qualifying Day Rules are defined using two separate rules:
- By Default
This rule takes priority. The rule defines days that are not to qualify using a Period Work Schedule Rule. These days are paid using the assigned Payment Band. (This is normally used for paying Non-Termtime absences for Teachers).
- By Employee
This rule is ONLY processed if the By Default rule has not already disqualified the day being processed. The rule defines days that are NOT to qualify using one of the HARD-CODED options available.
Note:Non-Working Days according to the employee's Personal Work Schedule (Infotype 0007) do NOT qualify.
Days before the start of the employee's Maternity Pay Period (Infotype 0088) do NOT qualify.
