In this step, you copy the wage types provided by SAP to create the additional model wage types you require to record the actual daily rate and variable daily rate.
SAP provides the technical wage type /003 for recording the actual daily rate. It is based on working days. If you wish to base your calculation on calendar days, for example, copy and modify /003 as required (giving it a model wage type name) and modify the personnel calculation rule G013 as appropriate.
SAP provides the model wage types OFUL, OHLF, and ONIL for recording the variable daily rate.
Note
For information on setting up your own wage types, see 'Payroll Data ->
Wage Type Concept' in the Implementation Guide for Personnel Administration.
Caution
Use only the area specified for your own copied wage types. Do not copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP standard wage types.

Activities
To create a new technical wage type by copying one from the standard system, proceed as follows:
- Specify the wage types that are to be created by copying the model wage types. To do this, specify the model wage type in the OWType field and the copy wage type in the CWType field.
- Modify the long and short texts of the copy wage types to suit your requirements.
- Flag the Test run field if you want to carry out a test run.
- Select all wage types you want to copy.
- Choose Copy wage types.
- Check that all the wage types to be copied are entered in the list now displayed and that they will be copied to the correct wage type area. If this is the case, choose Copy wage types.
The wage types are now copied. A list is generated logging the changes to all tables affected.
Further notes
For more detailed information on the copy procedure, choose Help -> Extended help in the maintenance view.
