In this step of the Implementation Guide you determine the valuation basis for absence valuation.
The valuation basis are wage types normally multiplied by a number of days or hours. The result, multiplied by a compensation percentage or an integration percentage that gives rise to the compensation value or the integration value itself.
The information managed in this step typically is:
- conventional month days (number of days by which the remuneration for work rendered is divided)
- conventional accrued days (number of days by which accrued remuneration is divided, that is year-end bonus, holiday bonus etc.)
- grossing-up percentage
- netting-down percentage
- the wage types group containing the data needed to calculate the average daily remuneration as an alternative to the above-mentioned conventional days
- the wage types group containing the data needed to calculate the remuneration for work rendered
- input and output wage types for social security valuation basis (INPS or INAIL).
Example
For INPS (sick-pay and maternity benefit) the valuation basis to be used is /030.
Requirements
Standard settings
Provided by SAP: the SAP table already includes the case basing on which the indemnities for protected absences are paid.
Recommendation
Activities
Fill the fields of the input wage types according to company needs; the last three wage types are output wage types.
Example: daily valuation basis.
Further notes
The netting-up/grossing-down percentages are necessary to calculate the of the possible amount of integration to be paid by the company.
The sick-pay and/or maternity benefit is calculated and paid net of INPS contributions. To calculate correctly the value of the possible integration you will thus need to either gross up sick pay/maternity benefit or net down the remuneration that would have been paid had the employee worked.
The system used to calculate the average daily remuneration used to achieve the INPS indemnity operates as follows:
- calculation of remuneration for work rendered: basic pay + incurred variables - variables to be deducted - deduction for newly hired employees
- calculation of daily remuneration: remuneration for work rendered /conventional month days
- calculation accrued daily remuneration: (accrued amount 1-4 / conventional accrued days)
- calculation average daily remuneration: daily remuneration + accrued daily remuneration multiplied by INPS compensation percentage (current percentages are 50% and 66.66%).
