The taxation law in Hong Kong requires employees to report details of their living quarters that are provided by their employers. You have to include this information in the tax reports submitted to the Inland Revenue Department.
In this step, you set up the field Company-owned appartment, in the Addresses infotype (0006), to trigger retroactive accounting. This lets the system extract the relevant information when the Company-owned appartment field is selected. This information is then printed to the appropriate tax reports.
Example
Requirements
Standard settings
In the system, we have already set up the Company-owned appartment field to trigger retroactive accounting.
Recommendation
You only need to check that the correct field, that is the Company-owned appartment field, in the Addresses infotype is set to trigger retroactive accounting.
Activities
In the 'Check Addresses infotype' step, check that the Addresses infotype (0006) is set up to trigger retroactive accounting when a field is selected. This is done by ensuring that, for the Addresses infotype:
the Retroactive accounting relevance for payroll field in the Retroactive accounting payroll section is set to the value T.
This means that retroactive accounting will be triggered on a field specified in the Field-Specific Recalculation Indicator table (T588G).
the Payroll feature field in the Retroactive accounting payroll section of the screen contains the feature 27ADR.
This feature specifies the variable key that is used to determine the field defined in the Field-Specific Recalculation Indicator table (T588G).
In the 'Define field for retroactive accounting' step, check that:
there is an entry for the Addresses infotype (0006) with variable key 27. This variable key is determined from feature 27ADR in the first step.
the Retroactive field name contains the Company-owned appartment field, that is 'WKWNG'.
the Retroactive Accounting Category field specifies that the retroactive accounting is relevant for payroll accounting, that is, the value 1 is entered.
