In this step, you set up the technical start date to be used for absence processing. As a result, the technical start date on the Date Specifications (0041) infotype will be used for SSP/SMP processing instead of the employee start date on the Events (0000) infotype.

To set up the technical start date, you define the relevant date type in the feature ENTRY for country modifier 08. This date type will then be read before the Date Specifications (0041) infotype to determine the technical start date.
