Use
In this step, you customise feature GBACT to activate new optional Payroll Great Britain solutions.
Requirements
All new optional areas are delivered as inactive.
Standard settings
Once you have activated an optional solution, you cannot then simply de-activate it. In most cases, the action of "de-activating" a new solution that has been active in your live environment will create migration issues.
Therefore, it is SAP Best Practice that once you have activated a new GB solution in your live environment, you never revert back to the old GB solution.
For instance, in the case of GBSxP Phase II, if you choose to migrate back to GBSxP Phase I after having been live on GBSxP Phase II, then it is necessary to set each employee's Personal Calendar date (IT0003-PKGAB) and Earliest Master Change date (IT0003-RRDAT) back to the start of the last Period of Incapacity for Work (PIW) or Maternity Pay Period (MPP) that was processed before GBSxP Phase II was active. (GBACTonly controls the migration for SSP and SMP to GBSXP Phase II).
Activities
Use feature GBACT to decide whether a specific optional Payroll GB solution is active or not.
- Select the area of the GB solution you wish to activate via the decision tree field AREA.
- Set the return value for the selected solution to 'X'.
Example
If you wish to activate the GBSxP Phase II solution, set the return value for the area '001' to 'X'.
