Use

The constants used in Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) processing are contained in table T511K.

These constants determine the length of time and rate at which SMP may be paid to an employee, as well as the earliest and latest date at which these payments can start. They also allow the Qualifying Week to be determined, which is used to calculate the employee's Average Weekly Earnings.

The constants relevant for SMP processing are as follows:

HRMAX SMP:     Max. weeks paid upper rate

LRMAX SMP:     Max. weeks paid lower rate

MPPST SMP:     Earliest MPP start, weeks

MPPEN SMP:     Latest MPP start, weeks

OFFQW SMP:     Gap QW before EWC, weeks

ELGWK SMP:     Continuous service, weeks
