Some companies pay specific wage types arising from the evaluation of variable time specifications, such as overtime, night shift bonues, etc, using deferred period processing, which means that the wage types for a particular period are evaluated and settled in the subsequent payroll period.
In this IMG activity you can define which wage types will be evalueated and settled in the period following the one in which they occur.
Example
An employee's hours of overtime in January will be evaluated and settled in February using the unit price for the later payroll period.

Standard settings
The SAP system includes a model process and model entries.
Recommendation
This process requires you to make a distinction between automatically generated or dialog-entered wage types, which we will call original wage types, and those to be evaluated and settled in the payroll, which we will call payroll wage types.
Adjust the SAP model process and entries to your own requirements.
Activities
- Define the original wage types that will automatically generate payroll wage types.
- Specify the payroll wage types.
- Copy standard rule EHBD into rule ZHBD.
- Change the call to rule EHBD in subschema ET0D.
Further notes
If you do not want to change the standard SAP settings, you can use standard rule EHBD and standard subschema ET0D directly.
