According to a 1967 Ministerial Order still in force, in the event of absence due to sickness or temporary incapacity to work it can be necessary to adjust the regulatory Social Insurance contribution basis if the corresponding maximum values change during the period prior to the start of sickness. If the employee's contribution was set at the maximum value, the regulatory basis must be adjusted as follows:
if the contributions paid in the month prior to the start of sickness were higher than the new maximum value, you must apply the new maximum value instead of the previous one starting from the period in which the change occurred.
However, if the contributions paid were lower than the new maximum value, the old maximum value will still be applied.
In this IMG activity you specify whether or not you want to activate this adjustment for the employees in your company through the CHILT constant
Standard settings
In the SAP standard system, the CHILT constant is given the value '1' (active correction) by default.
Activities
Check whether the standard value of the CHILT constant suits your needs.
If necessary, assign the suitable values and validity intervals for your company.
Note:
Bear in mind that if you change the value of a SAP standard constant, you run the risk of SAP overwriting the value in a future release or future system update.
