If an employee suffers a temporary incapacity while he or she is absent from the company on annual leave, the company can process the situation in the following ways:
- Not allow a collision of the two absences, and iterrupt the employee's vacation leave in order to begin a period of temporary incapacity leave.
- Allow a collision of the two absences, so that the employee will be guaranteed full pay and the company can recover the economic assistance generated from Social Insurance.
In this IMG activity you can define the way in which the economic assistance generated by a situation of temporary incapacity and collision with annual leave will cumulate in general economic assistance.
Example
The company interrupts general production in August. All employees assigned to that center take their annual leave in that month.
An employee begins a period of temporary incapacity on August 10.
The company allows a collision of absences.
Requirements
You must already have defined the wage types that form an employee's economic assistance in case of a collision of absences due to leave and temporary incapacity.
Standard settings
There are SAP model wage types for the following assistance types:
- Non-industrial disease. Compulsory benefit covered by the company
- Non-industrial disease. Benefit covered by Social Insurance
- Industrial disease and industrial accident
- Maternity
Recommendation
Use the SAP model wage types whenever possible.
Activities
- Specify whether internal company regulations allow a collision of leave and temporary incapacity absences.
- If so,:
- Check the SAP model wage types.
- Modify these wage types or define new ones according to your needs.
- Copy standard EAPD rule in rule ZAPD.
- In rule ZAPD, replace the model assistance wage types with the wage types that you defined earlier.
- Change the call to rule EAPD in subschema EILD for ZAPD.
- If not,:
- Copy standard subschema EILD in subschema ZILD.
- Deactivate rule EAPD in subschema ZILD.
Further notes
Omit points 2.b to 2.d if you do not want to change the assistance wage types and use standard rule EAPD directly.
